In search of a souvenir that truly embodies the soul of Taiwan, we ventured away from the crowded streets and up the winding roads of Jiufen. We weren't looking for magnets or postcards. We were looking for a flavor that could tell a story. This is how we found Wild Amber.
A Botanical San>ctuary in the Mists
That day, pushing open the door to a hidden tea room in the mountains, we weren't met with opulence. Instead, we were greeted by an overflow of greenery. The space was awash in natural light and the faint, grounding scent of medicinal herbs. The lush indoor plants seemed to merge seamlessly with the sweeping mountain and ocean views outside.

In that moment, taking a deep breath of that herbal air, a quiet voice inside us said: "This is it. We’ve found the right person."
Reimagining the Tea Ritual
The master artisan shared a thought with us: "Taiwanese tea is exceptional, but a great cup always longs for a worthy companion. Sometimes, the ritual of brewing is too slow for the modern traveler."
To allow people to taste the flavors of this land more lightly, he chose a different form of storytelling. He decided to distill his hand-tended teas and herbs into exquisite, crystalline Kohakutou (Amber Sugar).
The Essence of Taiwan, Crystallized
These aren't just sweets; they are "Taiwan’s Terroir, Concentrated." Each piece of Wild Amber seals in the mellowness of Alishan Oolong, the tartness of Puli Passion Fruit, or the depth of Sun Moon Lake Black Tea. The unique texture a crispy sugar crust protecting a silky, jelly-like heart mimics the rugged yet gentle nature of our island.
